The audiometry unit comprises a set of laboratories which assess the degree and type of hearing loss in patients of different age groups. Services offered in this ward include:

 

Hearing assessment

ABR (essential for assessing the function of ear neurons from the beginning of the cochlea to the brainstem in candidates for cochlear implant)

Tympanometry (to evaluate the function of the mid-ear, including the ear drum, ossicles, and the eustachian tube)

OAE test (to evaluate the health of infants’ auditory system from birth; based on the type of the problem, hearing loss may be possible to treat.)
