The pediatrics ward of Ayatollah Golpayegani Hospital has four incubator beds, two spherical phototherapy beds, and one resuscitation bed. It offers a wide spectrum of services for neonatal care with the help of doctors with neonatal subspecialty and the permanent presence of skillful pediatricians and experienced nurses. In this ward, a nurse receives the infant under care from the obstetrics and gynecology operating room or the normal delivery ward. After performing the basic measurements (length, weight, head circumference, and chest circumference), injection of vitamin K, and evaluation of outward health, the infant is visited by a skillful pediatrician and immediately delivered to the mother if no health problem is present. Then, training on breastfeeding and care is offered to the mother. In case of health problems, the infant is admitted to the neonatal specialized care ward and supervised upon the doctor’s order. This ward is equipped with a special room for resting and breastfeeding. The admitted infant is daily visited by a doctor with neonates subspeciality. Facilities for filming from the moment of birth to discharge are available upon parents’ request
