Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) (each hand)
Carpal tunnel syndrome is actually a condition in which the nerve in the hand is under more pressure than usual. Therefore, the innervation and sending of motor pulses to other parts of the hand, including the thumb and index finger, is disrupted. In general and normal, this tunnel is somewhat narrow. Therefore, any swelling that occurs in the nerve in this area will lead to pain, tingling, numbness or a feeling of weakness in this area.
