Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a procedure in which the damaged knee joint is replaced with an artificial joint or prosthesis made of materials such as metal or plastic. The knee may be injured for various reasons. These injuries lead to cartilage wear, knee osteoarthritis, or chronic inflammation in the joint.
